It certainly feels a bit presumptive to say anything before it is official, but we are currently in the process of securing a permanent space for the Mountain View Hope Center.  We expect to close within the next 2 weeks!

This is not about a building though—it never was.  For years, we have shown up - sharing meals, listening to neighbors, building trust and responding together to the needs around us.

Throughout these years, we have gathered only for a few hours each Sunday, most recently at the Mountain View Library.  In that borrowed space, neighbors have shared breakfasts together, received food and support, worshipped, prayed, volunteered and built relationships with each other.  This ongoing work has shown us what is possible, but also why we need a permanent, flexible home.

The Hope Center will give us room to be present with our neighbors more consistently. We envision a welcoming place for shared meals and food distribution, showers and laundry, help connecting with community resources, neighborhood gatherings, worship, prayer, conversation, and rest.

Even if we close next week, there is still significant work to be done before we can open the doors.  The building itself needs repairs, improvements, equipment and plenty of hands willing to help.  Over the coming weeks, we will share more about the work being done, the people making it possible, and the ways others can participate.

We are so very grateful to everyone who has prayed, served, given, encouraged us, referred someone to us, and shared in this vision.  The Mountain View Hope Center is taking shape because so many people believe in what can happen when a community shows up for one another.

This is only the beginning.  We look forward to a grand opening and the opportunity to welcome you inside!
